About Us

For over 35 years, Hero To A Child has been committed to transforming the lives of children and youth in the child welfare system. Through strong partnerships with service providers throughout our Circuit, we work diligently to address the daily challenges of foster care and meet the unique needs of children in our care.

We believe that every child in foster care deserves a dedicated service leader who prioritizes their well-being. We recognize that each child in the system has distinct needs, and we are devoted to addressing those needs through a closely connected community of care. By fostering strong relationships and collaboration, we ensure that every young person receives the individualized attention and support they deserve.

With our experienced team, diverse resources, and strong sense of community, Hero To A Child aims to create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and prepared to face any challenges that come their way.

Real People. Real Impact.

Hero to a Child reflects the rich diversity of the community it serves. Our Executive Director, who has experience as both a foster and an adoptive parent, leads our compassionate approach. Additionally, two of our staff members volunteer as guardians ad litem. Our Board of Directors includes former foster youth, adoptive parents, and child welfare professionals. This collective expertise enables us to effectively address the complex needs of children and families with inclusive, equitable solutions that empower and uplift them.
