2021 Lippitt Perseverance Scholarship
2021 Lippitt Perseverance Scholarship
2021 Merle Allshouse Memorial Scholarship
With determination to succeed, we believe you can achieve your dreams. Many of our youth have already endured many traumas but are resilient and diligent and with commitment and hard work have achieved what many foster youth do not -- graduating high school and/or completing their GED. The Lippitt Perseverance Scholarship is available to help you continue to further your education. This scholarship may be applied for during your senior year in high school or if you are currently attending a post-secondary institution. It is also available to those who have aged out and may need additional assistance after attempting education and hitting some hurdles that have caused barriers for completion (e.g. losing PESS benefit or other academic issues).
Merle Allshouse was a committed Guardian ad Litem volunteer with a lifelong passion for social justice and a fervent champion of providing accessible learning to all. Merle passed away in the spring of 2016 and his family wanted to honor his passion for education and service to the Guardian ad Litem Program by creating an educational fund to support youth in care. This annual scholarship award will be given to one or more youth each year who is pursuing post-secondary education.
